Scouting is the world largest voluntary ,nonpolitical,Uniformed,Youth organisation . In the year 1907,the movement was started by Sir Robert Stephenson Smith Baden Powell.
Scouting started in India in the year 1909, when Captain T.H.Baker established the first Scout Troop in Bangalore and got it registered with imperial Headquarters, London.subsequently, Scout Troops were formed in Kirkee (Pune), Simla, Madras, Jabalpur, Lonavla (Mumbai) and registered with the Imperial Headquarters during 1910 and 1911. These units were open to European and Anglo Indian Children only.
Pearls of God scout group is registered under The Serampore-Uttarpara Bharat Scouts & Guides District Association Since 4th July,1999. The group was inaugurated by the then time District Secretary Mr.Purandar Banerjee. The group is doing marvelous scouting activities under the leadership of Mr.Amal Chatterjee(Group leader scout), Mr.Ranjit Kumar Deb(Scout Master) & Mr.Amit Kumar Gond(Asst.Scout Master).
Throughout the Journey of 18 year our Scout Group have Bagged 18 President scout award and 25 Governor Scout Award We have also secured 1st position in state level scout competition in the year 2005 and also 1st Position in all India National level Scout Competition in the year 2006 From Our Scout Group many Scouts Participated in Dist , State and national level events like Camporee and Jamborees at Present We have a Scout Troop Consisting 40 scouts.
The purpose of scouting is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of local, national and international communities.
